More on the Safety Triangle Inspection

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

The Safety Triangle Inspection is especially designed by the people behind Monroe shocks and struts to highlight to motorists the importance of an annual undercar safety inspection. With the Safety Triangle Inspection, the safety of the driver and vehicle is given more importance nowadays more than ever. On an annual basis, an average of 12,000 miles is being run by one’s vehicle. With every mile the vehicle runs on, the shocks and struts suffer. It comes only natural that these shocks and struts should be checked to see if they can take on further.

On the average, shocks move as much as 1,750 cycles per mile under normal driving conditions. Roughly, this translates to over 87 million times for 50,000 mile run. After the vehicle has had an average of a 50,000 mile run, the original equipment shocks and struts begin to considerably degrade. Hence, many experts recommend having replacing these worn shocks and struts replaced upon reaching the 50,000 mile run. Various shocks and struts can be seen at the Bilstein shocks website, which can greatly improve on the vehicle’s handling characteristics as well as the ride comfort of its passengers.

There are three main systems inspected in the Safety Triangle Inspection: the Steering System, the Braking System, and the Suspension System. If you guys are wondering where and who can perform the Safety Triangle Inspection, the answer to that would be your local Monroe Expert Plus dealer or any ASE Certified Technician.
